I Have An E (not F) 350 With A V-10. Its About Time To Change The Plugs And I'm Looking For Brand Recomondations. I Have Hade Good Luck With Bosch Platinum Plugs In Other Fords. The Oem Autolights
Haven't Given Me Any Trouble And I,ve Heard Of Poeple Getting Better
Mileage (performance) With Nkg Plugs.
You will get a lot of replies for this thread. But most of the members agree that the BOSCh plugs are junk. They have a loose quailty control and the resistance can vary from plug to plug and that means misfires in COP systems like the v-10.When i service these engines I use either Motorcraft or AutoLite Platinum plugs which is the OEM style plug. Don't use copper core plugs!
Bosch was a good quality product but it seems as thought they have given up a lot of that quality. Even my Honda mechanic says to avoid them (that was for an O2 sensor on a Civic). You get what you pay for; a cheap product that needs replacing soon. Plugs on my V10 van are hard enough to replace once let alone twice.
I don't think it's the quality at all, I think it's just a different plug with a different set of operating parameters. And they don't coincide with Ford modulars
motorcraft or autolight. both plugs come from the same company and are just branded different . stay with the factory platinums. make sure you use never seize and a TORQUE wrench.do not eve use the old it feels good on this motor or face the chance of a plug blow out from being to tight and stripping the head or backing out from being under tight.
this areas moderator has a thread where he explains how and why in each step.
