table for woodworking tools

Has any body built a table for their woodworking tools. I would like to build a table where I could interchange my equipment around as needed. Like have my router table mounted where I could move it out and put up my belt/disc sander or my scroll saw. I am currently looking for a table top jointer and a table top plener and I would like to be able to change these out also.

You could do a removable insert system, where each tool has it's own mini-table to fit a dock built into the bench.

I have thought about that system. I would like to see one to see how it is designed so I could build one.

Don't think it would be too hard- the dock would have to be as deep, wide, and tall as the largest machines that would go in it. Maybe about 24" deep, about the same wide, and 18" or so of clearance underneath. You could also have a blank panel to drop in the dock to have a continuous work surface. A basic frame of angle iron, a slide-in or drop in panel secured with a couple countersunk screws, make the panel and tabletop out of 3/4" ply so it's fairly sturdy.
