Dura Spark Help!!!

Well I'm doing a efi to carb conversion on my T-bird 302 for my 61 F-100 and I just picked up the duraspark distributor and the module but it seems I still need some parts! What do I need?? Wiring harness and coil?? How does it all go together??

Yes, you need a wiring harness and coil. The wiring harness is available new or from a junkyard. Make sure you match year and application for the parts, because there were a few different versions.

Gotta tell ya, I run a 1979 ford ltd on the dirt track. and for simplicity's sake, I got an hei distributor for my 302. 1 hot wire when the ignition is on, that's it! Got rid of the duraspark box, harness, everything except for 1 wire. It works great! It was only like $60 from a place called White Performance in Kingsport, TN. Unless you really want duraspark stuff, you might check it out and save some headache.

Ya thats what I'm starting to think, I'm going to return the system and use my stock distributor and just change the gear out on it for the roller motor. Thanks for all the input!

I really like the Duraspark system (though I do carry a spare module with me) and have converted several points vehicles to it. The last one I did I used a TFI coil and my truck has been quite happy with the conversion. The benefits as I see them are that the conversion uses virtually all factory parts and can be done very cheaply (the part I really like!) and gives a very strong spark energy, especially when done with the TFI coil. I scrounge Duraspark parts whenever I come across them and keep a fairly good stock, so I can usually just dig into my spares for the parts and do the conversion for virtually nothing, and have no concerns about an oversize distributor that may cause clearance issues.
