I have a problem with my 1997 F150 AC. It worked real nice in May of this year when I bought the truck. However, when I tried it the next day, it did not work, the clutch did not even kick in. I put 2 cans of cold shot r134 in it, it still did not work.
Thinking I put too much in, I let some out. It still has plenty of r134 still in it.
I tried to jumper the low pressure plug on the accumulator, but the pump clutch still did not kick in. I even tried to put power directly to the plug on the clutch, that did not work. The funny thing is when the truck is first started in the morning and the engine is cold, the pump clutch kicks in and the air blows ice cold. As soon as the engine warms up, the clutch kicks out and the air blows out warm. This is driving me crazy. The truck just flipped the clock for the second time so I dont want to send it out to have it repaired. (Plus, I dont have the $ to spend on it). I tried to do a yahoo and google search for other people having the same problem, but found nothing.
Does anybody have any thoughts on this? Thanks, Dan. dan@presidentialcollision.com
