Hello everybody. I have a F-250 superduty. It has power everything and remote entry. When i put it into gear the doors do not lock, and the alarm is not triggered when the doors are opened from the inside when the alarm is on. I used to have a F-150 and my friend did some kind of code with the doorlocks and that truck did the same thing. Does anyone know this code?
What you are describing is the AUTOLOCK feature. This is from the owner's manual:
To deactivate/reactivate the autolock feature using the keypad
Your vehicle comes with the autolock feature activated. To
deactivate/reactivate this feature:
1. Ensure that the anti-theft system is not armed.
2. Turn the ignition to the 3 (OFF) position.
3. Close all the doors, liftgate and cargo doors.
4. Enter the 5-digit entry code.
5. Press and hold the 7 • 8. While holding the 7 • 8, press and release
the 3 • 4.
6. Release the 7 • 8.
The horn will chirp once when the system has been successfully
deactivated.
The horn will chirp twice (one short and one long chirp) when the
system has been successfully reactivated.
Thank you for the advice, but I don't understand the 5 digit code. Where would I enter that? I also can't find the alarm under in the motor compartment. I don't know where it is located. There is a section in my manual about the keyless entry and the alarm, I just assumed it came with the truck.
The instructions redford gave you are for the trucks with the exterior keypad that lets you put in a 5 digit code to unlock the doors. You do not have this. And like I said Autolock was not a feature until 2002, so you can't make it work in your 2000.
As far as the alarm goes, are you sure you have one? They are not standard on the trucks, I beleive they are a dealer add on option.
Thank you guys for the info, I did not know that. The reason I asked is because last thursday some kids broke in through the slider, cleaned out all the change some cash and all the smokes they could find. They went out the drivers door so apparently the alarm does not work!
