i need help finding a head for a 1986 ford ranger diesel this head is cracked it is a great truck and at around 40 mpg it is great for comuting but a crack from compression chamber to water jacket leaves you doing alot of this any help would be great if you have time maby you could try your local wrecking yard
Michael, did that engine come in there from the factory ? I didn' know ford ever colaborated with mitsi....... I have a ford escort (84) with a mazda diesel in it. Finding parts is nearly impossible, there are so few of these out there. Apparently the mazda diesels all crank the heads in the same place. My cylinder head is aluminum and was welded by a automotive machine shop. So far,it seems to be holding fine. Can yours be welded ? DF
i sent it with a friend and he is going to try an T.I.G it
and hopefully it works it would be nice because i have had
no luck finding a head in north AMERICA
so hope fully he can do it
Hey, sorry to hear about the head. I just wanted to let you know that I too own a 1986 Ford Ranger Diesel. 2.3L Mitsubishi, turbocharged. Four-wheel drive, standard five speed. It's an amazing truck. I get 28mpg in the summer, even hauling my fourwheeler. If I ever come across a head, I'll let you know. If you're interested, you can see my webpage about my truck:

Nice to hear of another owner. I still haven't met another one with a fully working truck like mine, but I keep searching. Good luck.
