Odometer Discrepency

I just bought a 2007 F-150 SuperCab and there is a milage discrepency on the odometer. Prior to starting the vehicle the odometer shows about 3 mile more than after the vehicle is started?? What is going on here? Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks.

Nate

Strange...I don't suppose it happens to be switching from the trip odometer to the real 'total' odometer during start-up? On a brand new vehicle, I could see how the two might be almost identical.

Exactly what I was going to suggest.

So let me get the this straight...

You turn the key on, without starting the engine and the odo reads say, 100.0 You start the engine and it reads 103.0?

What happens when to switch over to the trip odo, what does it read?

I think the total odo reads say 103.0 and the trip odo reads 100.0 Maybe the trip odo was reset at some point before you took delivery.
