Wheels these days

Jesus wheel prices are outragius these days. Ive been lookin for a while now found a bunch that I like but people whant like 1 or 2 grand for them. I am only wanting to pay 400 or 500 for a set. All I am looking for is a simple 5 spoke 17inch wheel nothing real fancy just somthing that looks better than my fugly painted ones.

Certain brands are like designer clothes, you're paying for the name on the product more than the product itself it seems.

The higher volume lines, like the American Racing lineup, are a bit more reasonable, but where you buy them can make a huge difference too. Chrome is a definite cost increaser.

I think they are expensive simply because some people want them to be expensive. So many people want to run around and say they spent ____$$$ on their wheels. They are like anything that gets popular and is put in music videos and movies and whatever, people will pay more money than something is worth just because it has a name on it or is in style.

Sorry to rant....

I definitely second the ebay and/or craigslist route. Right now, there are 20 sets of 17" wheels on ebay for <$500.

http://motors.search-desc.ebay.com/s...e=search&fgtp=

If you're willing to expand the selection to include 18" wheels there are more choices. But it definitely pays to shop around. Good Luck!

As mentioned, If you go to www.newtakeoff.com you should be able to find a set of OEM chromed steel for cheap ($200 for the SET!). Others have mentioned the other cheap locations, craigslist.com and E-bay.

An excellent chrome job is labor intensive and costs big bucks. It must be dipped and polished and dipped and polished and dipped and polished and....for the best gloss. As with anything, surface prep is the key. Cheap chrome will peel and flake and look like crap in no time. YMMV.

I've never priced a Jesus wheel, but I agree with the others. Ebay is where I got a nice set of 15" aluminums with center caps and chrome lugnuts for my jeep for $299 shipped to my door.

lol mslayer I meant Jesus.......... wheels are expinsive these days. I would go to 18's but tires are so freaking expinsive I think I am going to have to stick with 17's.

Why are these so cheap? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/18-MB...QQcmdZViewItem

I third the craigslist/ebay route I got a set of brnd new fx2 rims for $275. A tip try to find the guy with the rims sitting in the garage and no room to put them and make a low ball offer. Let his wife do the rest.

Here's where I bought my Jeep wheels. Very good wheels and great price. I highly recommend him.

I found one of his auctions on ebay and got my set for the opening bid price.
