Smile Performance Upgrades

Hello all. Great site here. This is my first post. I have an '02 Excursion 7.3l Limitedt 4x4. I changed the cold air intake last week from K&N to AFE stage II and am pleased at the increase in power and it seems mpg as well. I am scheduled for a Banks exhaust upgrade this month(wish it was duals!) Also getting the Big Head wastegate and their high boost compressor wheel. I am seriously considering an Edge juice with attitude. Anyone with a 7.3 have any feedback on the Edge?

Welcome to the forum,

I have been selling and using Edge products for a long time, BD assisted Edge in developing the programs for the 7.3L's back when Edge was just a small company starting out. In my opinion they have grown into one of the leaders in Diesel Performance electronic technology. The Edge Juice with Attitude or the Edge Evolution are both great products and would highly recommend either on of them!

Thanks for the reply Dave. I am running a Diablosport Predator now and am told I can keep it for the improved Tranny line pressure and that it will stack well with the Edge? Is a trans command a better solution? Should I change the Accumulator springs and Modulator valve? Whats the best trans command and why doesn't a trans command module also incorporate a trans brake? I am also considering a BD Exhaust brake as well.

Your welcome

Yes you can stack that Predator with the Edge Juice but not the Evolution Tuner. Personally I would run an upgraded accumulator body, for instance with the BD Accumulator you get more than just higher clutch apply pressure and better shifting characteristics we also get rid of the pulse modulated shift that really drags your clutches between shifts, we go with a straight on/off engagement that really saves wear and tear on the clutches. As far as the Tran Command I thing you are getting us confused with Banks, that is their product.

PM me know if you need an exhaust brake, accumulator body etc... I can work you out a discounted forum member discount.

Hey great yes please price for me the Brake and Accumulator. I am using the Banks Power elbow so would need the remote option? Does BD have transmission modules for shifting/braking?

The latest controller we have is called the TowLoc, it comes set up for your make of truck but can easily be tuned with a laptop or palm pilot to calibrate all shifting and brake commands. You can set everything from warm up features, 4-3 downshift speeds brake off speed etc... the T/C lock up release is controller by RPM rather than speed so the convertor will stay engaged well below the traditional 20-25MPH range and you down shift into 3, 2 even 1st.

I will PM you some pricing.
