I was looking on ebay and there seems to be quite a few tranny coolers at better prices than at retail stores. Can y'all give me some brands that are acceptable for my 97 F350 PSD dually?
I threw the OEM cooler in the trash can as it is just about worthless. My tru-cool is mounted centered in front of the engine radiator. You will be quite impressed with the drop in temps. My addition was hardly optional as I live out here in New Mexico and have been having 100 deg days for a while now. I just had my tranny rebuilt a few months ago and want to make it last longer. You will not at all be disappointed with this cooler.
I removed the OEM cooler and installed that one in it's place. If you live in a cold climate you should opt for the thermal break (thermostat) or your tranny may not get up to operating temp. I have the therm and my tranny gets up to 175 within 3-5 miles....and stays there, even under big towing loads.
