Starting problem
When I went to start my truck this morning, it wouldn't star. The ign. cyl. seemed loose so I replaced it. That wasn't the problem. I took the sleeve off the steering column and noticed that there is a rod that isn't fully engaging the ign. switch. I can start it if I push forward on the rod with a needle nose pliers. What is the problem and how do I fix it? Does this involve removing the steering wheel? Do I need a steering wheel puller or can I remove the steering wheel with a wrench? Any help would be appreciated.

The piece thats broke is called an ignition actuator cam and yes you need a steering wheel puller it can be a sob to get the springs back in on the tilt mechanism but its pretty simple I had to do this with mine it only took me about 45-an hour to get er taken apart and back together go to like NAPA or any autoparts store they carry those cams on the shelf they are only like 6 or so bucks Good luck....
