gears for tires

Ok well now that I got the 38s on my truck the stock gears are a bit doggish. i was thinking of going with 4.10s cuz i can get a good price on a front center section and a rearend with 4.10s and Detroits. so thats why i was looking to go that route. Do you guys think 4.10s will be ok with the 38s? thanks in advance

like mentioned above the 4:10's should work fine. I run 4:56's with my 35's. They work awesome. I dont have a huge top end about 75mph is 3k rpm, but when I hit the trail and go into 4low I can idle up about anything lol.

I run 4:10s for 33" They are ok for 36 but doggy . Coarse I live in a very hilly area. Using old chart from OFF ROAD magazine . Lets just say you need lower than 4:10 to get the engine RPM range back to normal .

Here's an awesome chart on that 4lo.com website for finding the right gear ratio for your tire size. I need some 4.10s

i would run at least 4.88's unless this is a road queen. 38's is also pushing what the front and rear diffs can handle. if you run a 4.10 gear and that size tire you will be more apt to use throttle to get thru things which will cause breakage.
