Drop Down step

Has anyone put the electric retractable door step on thier truck. Something like on the RV's. I'm starting a frame off resto on a 77 4x4. It is not a gotta have item, but Mama told me to get this toy of mine and I thought I'd do it to surprise her seeing how she's only 4'9", and that first step is a little big. Any thought would be appreciated, Thanks folks

A few guys have put the AMP research steps on there Super Duties up in that forum and are very happy with them. It doesn't look like they make one for your truck, but I imagine with some fab work it could be used.

Thanks for the advice. How much difference is the frame? I would think a few drilled holes is all it would need. Thanks Al

I believe they attach to the body under the door, not the frame. So it is hard to tell without looking and the steps and body of your truck.

Beerstalker thanks, I am really surprised that the steps wouldn.t just come from the frame. Or at least a cross member. That's a lot of wait when they are extended and stepped on. I will deffinettly do some research before spending the $$$$
Thanks Again AL

Sorry, haven't been on for a few days. Yes they drill in to the weld at the bottom of the body. One support goes to the body cross member (not frame). Seems plenty sturdy, but only been in for a few weeks. They say 300 lbs no problem I think. So far I love them!!....Brian
