The clicking noise is probably you glow plug relay. Is you truck auto or standard? If it's standard, I would say check the clutch switch. Auto, I would say pull the column covers and inspect the three wire loom coming out of the shifter. Those chaif often and fail commonly. Hope that helps.
Check your battery connections and starter connections for clean and tight. Make sure your batteries have a good charge.
***WARNING TO DO THE NEXT STEP HAVE TRUCK IN PARK (AUTO) OR NETRUEL (MANUAL) ***
Jump the little post and the big post (with the hot wire) on the starter solenoid on the right (passenger) side fender. If it turns over, then your starter solenoid is good and you need to look at everything that Duck said. If it still clicks you need a new starter solenoid. Let us know what you find and we will go from there. Good Luck.

Reason: addition
In order to jump the relay on the fender well that plowhand is talking about you just take a screwdriver with a rubber handle. Doesn't have to be rubber b/c 12v won't kill you just make ya zing. It's like drinking caffeine
.5 millivolts will stop a heart. Ask me how I know. LOL 99.999% of the time it won't kill you. Timing is everything. Not gettin' down on ya Flea, but that was a false statement. So I figured I'd say that before some # cruncher got his panties in wad.
0.5 millivolts won' stop a heart unless it is connected directly to the heart, such as precordial wires. Such as when someone has a pacemaker/defibrillator placed. Did you have one? Not many people know that fact and I don't know how old you are but I assumed since you brought out that factoid.
However, usually the shock gained, or rather electrical charge absorbed, will be conducted by your skin and then transported by the neurovascular pathways to the ground, (your feet) if there is a conductive surface, bare skin or nonorubberized boots, to get it there. So, moral of the story, don't touch electricity with bare hands but with some sort of protection. How 'bout you don't touch elec. at all but wear protection while doing so.
I mean, how many of us have touched 110v in the house while working on a lamp or something. I have. 9 times out of 10 it won't kill you but it's that tenth time that suprises you and you have to take a trip to see me in the E.R.
Hey Duck,
I am looking at your pics and I see your intercooler. I have seen T. Beggs and I wanted to know does it really help cool down the intake air a lot?
I always thought the intercooler was filled with coolant but now I know better.
Fletch
Wait, does that make me a # cruncher?????? Either way, I'm not wearing any panties...........at this time. LMAO
Cody thats funny stuff there.
To the OP, we need to know what tranny you have. Have you tried junp starting the truck? let us know what we are working on and we can give you some guidance.
Flea yes the IC does help cool the intake air. by alot! I have been keeping my eyes open for a 6.0 cooler to swap in for even more cooling. It has made the difference in my truck from having to let off the throttle at 70mph from a dead stop to stay under 1300 to being able to hit 80 or 85 before it becomes a concern. And I have junk programming!
Fletch, fortunately I'm not old enough to warrent a pace maker or any kind of operation that requires extra voltage. But I'm on a Hazmat crew at work, and we train for that stuff all the time. That was just one of the tid bits I actully remembered. I tried to get all smart on ya, then you come back with all that!!!!! WAT EVAA!!!! Either way, nicely said.
As far as the intercooler, it helped me some. But not an "OH MY GAWD" amount. I was pissed at it cuz it stole some of my boost, and was more laggy. Oh well, more fuel and nitrous!!!
I agree with Cody about the IC. Didn't make a night and day difference and it was a double edged sword. IT cooled and allowed me to be in the throttle longer but I went from zero lag to quite a bit of lag and lost about 4 or 5 PSI boost which could have equaled out in air density. The lag is the biggest annoyance
