I'm nuts, young, and feel the need to show off. (and somewhat stupid)
Obviously brake torquing/power stand (holding brakes and gas) is a good way to do this. How well would it work if I put a high pressure, manual, valve on my back brakes. How hardy would it have to be, and would anti lock brakes pose a problem?
My plan is to interuppt the line and run it right under the cab. Drill a hole in the cab for the valve to fit through and turn it on and off that way. If the valve itself brakes I really don't need to worry as it would simply return full power to the rear brakes. And the fittings are no problem I'll just put it in when I run the new lines I'm putting in.
I will also install some simple light in the dash so that I know the brakes are disengaged. Optimally anyway I can do electronically and further up the line would be great, that way I don't have to cut holes in my cab.
Disclaimer for those like me who might think this is a good idea!!! Brake Torquing cooks your tires and screws up your power train beyond belief. ONLY DO IT WITH YOUR TRUCK, IN A WIDE OPEN AREA, AND WITH NO COPS!!! YOU WILL PROBABLY GET A TICKET IF THEY CATCH YOU!!!! If I'm alone I have no complaints. But your truck will act unpredictably while doing this, brake stopper or not.
I was gonna say the same .... Line Lock .... it's electronic ... just like your
ABS .... which will cause a problem if you also have an electronic differential lock, which you probably don't have in the 91. Don't do this in 4WD.
Ya know what would really show off .... put a hydraulic tailgate lowering device and 3 or 4 pulse jet engines in the bed .... almost as illegal for street use .... but most of you youngsters don't seem to care about that.
I ain't doing rockets... I'll leave the airforce to do that.
I was looking at that stopper thing and you have the wrong idea. I want to be able ot control this thing. So when I have the back brakes interuppted, I still have to hold the brake pedal down. Then when I let up, the brakes are off, like normal brake pedal. But I don't want fluid locking up the back brakes. That way the rear wheel are spinning freely

First thing, what you are proposing is a horrible idea, and a really good way to get dead, or cause others to get dead. Not to mention the abuse on the truck is just plain foolish, but it's your truck so whatever..I ain't paying for it..
The line lock hooks into your front lines, and has an electrically activated valve. Push the brakes, hit and hold the switch, let the brake pedal go and the fronts will stay locked until you let go of the switch. Exactly what your trying to accomplish, but with a switch, not the pedal, and no manual valve to crank on in the rear line with the potential to alter your rear braking pressure if you don't get it all the way open..
Either way, ITS A TRUCK. You would be way better off dropping the whole idea.
Ticket? Hell in Chicagoland it's an arrestable offense with impound. Up here, based on who's around it can even be classified reckless endangerment and in a few counties that means you don't pay to get your truck out of impound, that means they keep it to sell at auction.
That said, your local laws may differ, but if something goes wrong and you kill yourself or anyone else, roll the truck or catch fire, nobody will be particularly sympathetic here.
As for the line lock, my uncle uses one on his Challenger for burnouts at the drag strip. It'll do what you want it to do, but doing it on the street is just dumb.
Mostly on the beach (parking lots) or out in the country. Short distances then stopping. I ain't gonna do it in normal driving... Probably should have clarified that.
I think you would be better off doing this in something like a FoxBody Stang .... they are ugly enough for it also .... TireRack also has burnout tires to fit the imports and stangs that will smoke in several different colors. But .... This is for staged shows under controlled conditions, which usually only result in a 20% chance of a mishap, not for the street.
What you are trying to do is what we used to call Power Braking ... which caused smoke to come from the rear brake shoes due to the engine torque overcoming the rear brakes. Don't do it. And the Rockets was a joke.
If you're gonna do just that be sure to do it safe...I agree line lock would just be better...I have a friend who really wants to show off and he succeeded on it but his tires really smoked and now, he's upto buying new ones plus --I don't know what's still the damage's done. But anyway, as I've said, maybe you just need a hurst lock line to back you up...Good luck!!!
