Well today was my day to get my clutch done. I have gotten everything off, driveline, slave, starter, and all the bolts. I cannot get the transmission off the spline and it appears the mounts are holding it to the crossmember. I can't get the crossmember off because of the rivits holding it on there.
How do you do this? I am very frustrated.
Also what is the procedure for getting the clutch, pressure plate, and throw out bearing out of there and back in?
Thanks guys. I need to get this done tonight since my Mercedes broke down on me.
Alex.

What engine and transmission? With the 223 six and a 3-speed or 4-speed, the transmissions just bolt to the bellhousing.
Removing the access cover on the cab floor gives you easier access to the transmission. Get 4 long (about the same length as the input shaft on the transmission) bolts with the same thread as the tranny bolts and cut the heads off so you can slide the tranny along these guide bolts when removing or replacing. If you don't have a transmission jack, this makes reinstalling the transmission a heck of a lot easier. You'll want a clutch guide tool (or spare transmission input shaft) when reinstalling the clutch.
