Can wheel hop do this?

Driving down the highway 65 mph.Its under construction.I come to where the blacktop is riped up,uneven about 4" and the rear jumps. At that moment my A.b.s. and o.d. lights come on and speedo drops to zero.Only for one second then back to normal.then I come to the other side of the constructin and back up onto pavement, same thing. The thing is,its a brand new speed sensor. Its the first day on the road for this new speed sensor. When I traveled this road everyday prior this never hapened, that I notice anyway. Is this just my wheels losing contact with the road momentarily and the sensor actually working properly? Also if it is that how can I reduce the wheel hop in an unlaiden truck. How much air pressure in the back tires when empty?

Your not clipped in... Pull the plug, clean the connector and add some dielectric grease and plug it back in...

Your wheels would still be turning even though they left the surface, and would probably speed up just a bit since they don't have the resistance of the road. I'd look for a loose connection.
