ABS Light on for good!
Ok here is a tough one without an ABS scanner. I have a 99 F150 4x4 5.4L 4w abs and about 180k on it. The abs light comes on upon start up now. Used to only come on from time to time when I was driving, always after take off from a stop sign, red light, etc. The interesting thing I found out was that If I hold my foot down on the brake during Starting the engine, The ABS light dosen't light until I let my foot off the brake pedal. Checked the Rear speed sensor, cleaned off a few metal chips but I don't think that is the cause. Before the light was comming on, (aka the winter months here in Ohio) ABS worked fine, always has. If it is doing this without the vehicle moving now, is it necessarily the speed sensors? I need some more knowledge on the logistics and operations of the ABS system. Any help would be so apreciated.
