I have a 1997 ford f150 with a 4.6 in it the trucks odometer stopped running two years ago and it says 256,000 but I replaced the motor and it know only has about 85,000 and I just got the transmission rebiult after telling you guys all that I have been having a problem ith the way the truck has been running under a normal aceleration it would buck and at cruise ing speed it would do the same thing (45-60mph) so I changed the plugs, wires, both coils, air filter, fuel filter i did all this because the check engine like came on and it said #7 cylinder miss fire after I found that out I just changed that plug and wire and coil because I was broke and it ran a little better after I did that it ran a little better then it came up that #3 cylinder miss fired so thats when I changed every thing and it is doing the same thing what do I do please help

Welcome to FTE Redneckbronco96.

What brand parts did you use when you changed the plugs and wires? These engines are pretty sensitive and seem to run best with Motorcraft parts. Good luck!

This is a much discussed topic. The vast majority of FTE members, myself included will recommend using only Motorcraft plugs and wires.

Do you know what brand parts you took out when you changed these parts?

I put brand new bosch 8mm wires and NGK platinum plugs and i have to say that i disagree. She runs better on these than the motocraft brand. hmmm....

Bosch plugs do not run well in these engines. NGK is a much better plug than a Bosch.
