I just had an Oasis report done on a 2004 king Ranch. Came up as the following. Apparently the motor was replaced by Ford on 23-FEB-2006 at 86.410 miles. The vehicle currently has 160 000 Kms on the odometer now. I would like to know all the opinions of you folks here on whether this is a good thing or should a guy just keep searching for a different truck to buy instead? Who better to ask than the guys and gals driving the 6.0L? If anyone wants to see the actual Oasis report and all the codes, just ask and I'll post em or send em to you. Thanks in advance.

Having the motor replace could be taken any number of ways. Post the Oasis and let us look. It could be that the truck was at a dealership that didn't know how to repair it properly or it could just be a problem truck.
I just bought an 05 F250 King Ranch....simular situation...Oasis showed all sorts of engine problems for original owner. At 60K, Dealer took it back, and took it to auction (that part I dont understand), new dealer purchased & replaced motor under warranty. I bought it. Truck has 60k, I have 5K on the new motor now at 65K. Seems like a good deal if the price is right.
I bought an early 03 with the 6.0 back in Feb. The OASIS showed no powertrain issues so I bought it. I also forked out 1,400 for an extended warranty just to be safe. I've had the truck back to the dealership twice (actually it's there now...this is # 2), once for paint protectant and this time for (1) warped rotors (2) problem with fuel gauge (after I fill, it takes a day for the gauge to register correctly) and (3) the r0402-fail indication I get from the odometer readouts.
They've corrected the brake problem but they can't figure out the other two issues....they think they may be related. Bottom line is there are no codes showing so they were going to call Ford and request assistance.
Bottom line (this is one guys opinion), the 6.0s are either great or they're pigs. The OASIS report is the magic determiner.
