My wife and I are going to be flying out to Minneapolis for a conference for a couple of days prolly the end of this month. We are not sure just how long we will be there with much free time, but is there any places that anyone here can recommend to eat or see. I know we are going to be in the south side of the city.. anything we should avoid??
thanks in advance
Mall of america is close to the airport, its an okay time. The Ordway theatre in Saint Paul is fun if theater is your forte. Valley fair - theme park is also enjoyable.
If you're going to be on the south side of Minneapolis, you're not far from the Mall of America in Bloomington. It has an indoor amusement park, an aquarium, and four levels of stores and restaurants. It's pretty neat, I'm not a shopper by any means but it's fun to go there and just people watch. I think Ft. Snelling is pretty close to the airport, that would be fun if you're into history. You could also go to the Metrodome and catch a Twins game if you're into baseball. I live in the northern part of Minnesota but get to Minneapolis about once a month to pick up steel for my shop or to go to tool shows. There's a lot to do in the metro area, look up the visitor's bureau on the internet, they have a lot of info on there. And be glad you're not going there in February!!
Ill have to try Murrays and the mall id love to go to a twins ball game but my wife finds baseball about as pleasureable as root canal im going to see about the fort too thanks people!! we will be there the 24th to the 26th
I live just nw of Minneapolis and can tell you Murray's is still the bomb, just bring a boatload of money with you, and I do mean a boatload.....Also might try Fogo De Chao,,,,cool twist on a steakhouse---very good food.....look it up on google
Why whats so bad about MPLS? there is lots to do there.
Well one could begin with the high homicide rate, Or the drugs. What is it up to now like 30 homocides in the last 2 years? Or there's always the traffic. Or the arrogant attitude that there better then "greater" Minnesota. Of course when they want tax money to build a new sports stadium then were not so bad....
