Hey, the threading on the shaft I screw a bolt into ther center of(the shaft is the shaft from my power steering pump, the bolt the tool to reattach the p.s. pulley) stripped out in the middle, any suggestions on how to get a bolt (I don't care what size, I just want that pulley back on) to bite in there?
Another thing, does anybody know how to remove the tamper proof "torx" screws to get to the MAF sensor (I want to clean it). The screws have a small point in the center to prevent normal humans from getting to the sensor to make their truck run better.
Most hardware stores will have the "special" torx bit you need. As for the bolt hole, drill it out and get a heli-coil kit. You drill the hole out, tap it with the included tap, insert the heli-coil (looks like a sharp edged spring), and put yer original bolt back in. VERY cool. My company (Emhart) has the patent for heli-coils, and POP rivets among a TON of other fasteners. nuff braggin...
