My 94 Ranger has one of the split bench/tilt seats with the armrest/console that attaches to the driver's side seat. I leaned on it too hard and it broke a while back. It's hanging on (barely) but doesn't work like used to!
I'd like to see about repairing/replacing it, and was wondering if anyone's pulled and replaced theirs? I can't seem to find any info on how to do that.
I've pulled mine...it's sitting in my house if you need it. It's grey and seen better days, but it works.
Open the console. On the driver's side of it there's a small plastic cover on the inside. Remove the plastic cover, and you have access to a Torx bolt that holds the console in place. Remove this Torx bolt (mine was quite hard to remove...took a lot of force), and the console comes right off.
Getting the pointer on where the bolt was hidden was the big break. It turns out that the bolt was extremely loose...tightening it fixed the problem. Thanks!
