Can I cheat?
Hi,
I've been having some performance problems with my 94 E250 351w E4OD, The thing simply can't decide how it want's to run...One day it will run great and the next it runs like a total dog. I ran my auto Xray on it many times but it claims that all is well in the mumbo pocus dept. (Electronic gizmos)
Nobody seems to have an idea as to the problem, so I'm thinking of what I would do to an old school engine.
If anyone has any ideas on what the problem might be I'd be MOST grateful!
I am thinking about just going for it and replacing the following...
Injectors
Cats
Tranny fluid
Another tune up (after only 7000 miles)
Timing gears
PCV
(From the cheapest to the most expensive of course!)
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone here has done the timing gears on one of these newer vans, and is it possible to do it without taking out the radiator? (just in case the tranny tubes don't wanna come out.)

My fear is that it's a tranny problem. One of those $1800 tranny problems! Gonna change all the fluid in there next week just for the cheap insurance. (Didn't take it out of the torque converter last time I changed the fluid.)
I'm not gonna have the tranny checked out untill it's totally dead tho. At least then I'll KNOW I need a rebuild.
