Alarm Problems

I just got a used 2005 Ford F150 Supercab with 44k miles on it. I have had it for a few days and whenever I locked it, it would not beep. If I pressed the button twice, quickly, an alarm would go off (weird). Last night I went to the grocery store and got out of my truck. I didnt think I pressed anything, but the alarm went off. I pressed lock, then unlock, then the same and nothing happened. I turned on the truck and nothing happened. Finally I pressed unlock again and it went off. Now, whenever I unlock it and lock it, it beeps. Just one beep. If I quickly press lock twice, an alarm still goes off. Why is this? It is very troublesome.

Is this a factory alarm or the OEM Keyless entry? I have seen some key fobs get internal shorts after being soaked...beaten... dropped, etc.

what do you mean the alarm goes off. Does it beep. My truck 05 screw first push locks silent and the second beeps. Do you have two fobs?

It beeps when I push it once (didn't used to). It has always had the alarm go off if I push lock twice. Its extremely annoying.

Take it to the dealer, and have them fix it. Sounds like the module is bad.

Anybody have any ideas? I was just looking through the owner's booklet and binder and i found something that I don't think came in there from factory. It is an owner's guide on a ProLine C-5+ Vehicle Security System. I do not have the remote that is pictured on the front. Could the person that owned my truck before me have programmed this key, and now my key doesn't work right? A thought. Hope this helps you get an idea of what is going on. Please help me. Thanks.

I believe, now, that the alarm system is aftermarket.

The aftermarket alarm is made by Omega.

just unplug the brain for the aftermarket alarm and it will make it stop working.
