I just got a used 2005 Ford F150 Supercab with 44k miles on it. I have had it for a few days and whenever I locked it, it would not beep. If I pressed the button twice, quickly, an alarm would go off (weird). Last night I went to the grocery store and got out of my truck. I didnt think I pressed anything, but the alarm went off. I pressed lock, then unlock, then the same and nothing happened. I turned on the truck and nothing happened. Finally I pressed unlock again and it went off. Now, whenever I unlock it and lock it, it beeps. Just one beep. If I quickly press lock twice, an alarm still goes off. Why is this? It is very troublesome.
Anybody have any ideas? I was just looking through the owner's booklet and binder and i found something that I don't think came in there from factory. It is an owner's guide on a ProLine C-5+ Vehicle Security System. I do not have the remote that is pictured on the front. Could the person that owned my truck before me have programmed this key, and now my key doesn't work right? A thought. Hope this helps you get an idea of what is going on. Please help me. Thanks.
