ammeter function
Can some one please tell me exactly what the stock ammeter guage on my F350 is telling me? Is it showing the charging rate, or the level of charge in the batteries? Thanks, John

No, it actually does show more than an idiot light, if you pay attention.
If you don't see a slight rise in the voltage after you start your truck, you know the battery isn't charging.
If you see the voltage dip, you know there is a drain on the system.
