My truck seems to run better at night. I notice a huge difference in power. I think it has todo with heat . Throught the day seems like its running on 6 cylinders at night WOW all kinds of power . I haul alot so i know its not in my head. I've read links in this site ,but not sure. Plus mileage isn't that good . 2006 F-250 SC 4X4 6.0 50000km. 14 mpg like to get 17 18mpg I'm i dreaming??? Thanks

haha well you're saying it has all kinds of power at night so im betting your getting on it. that won't do well for your mpg's. I know first hand. I think 17-18 is realistic. Just keep driving it and it should come around. oh and welcome.
Totally agree with the night temps and running better. These trucks perform best in the 50-70 ambiant air temperture range. The hot humid air has a higer dew point and limits the ability for the fuel to completely saturate the compressed air. The dryer and cooler the air the more fuel you can pack into it. My most favorite time of year to run my truck is fall and spring. When its cool and crisp the powerstroke ponies stretch their legs.
I figured the humidy had something todo with it. Can anything be done,Modes or something . Really don't want to touch it . Warrenty & all. What about fuel conditioners . Brands ,used Howes in my 7.3L .Thanks for the input
