I have been thinking about buying one for 2 years now...and still cant kick the thought.
Last year i got my daily friver 79 f-250 4x4 with a 400 to run 14.332 in the 1/4 mile here in colorado, and would like to do some more tuning ( if possible) and an intake swap to try to help me tword my goal of hitting a 13.999 pass one day this year.
i'm running one on my Cleveland at the moment, and i've suggested them to several guys seeking the ultimate torque combo but i really don't think anyone has taken me up on it. it's not a performance oriented manifold but if low end is what your after, it's a step in that direction.
I have had one sitting on a shelf for a couple of years. I cleaned it up and put it on my 400 a few months ago. I rebuilt the carb at the same time so it is hard to say how much improvement was due to carb. It ran fine before I did the swap. The only reason for going through the carb was because I had it off and said what the hell. Vacum is much better. Off-idle response is much better. I had a Weiland action + installed prior to the Offy. For a daily driver I really like it. I never get over 4000 rpm so take it for what is is worth. It seems to idle better and run out smoother, but this may just be perception. It in a 1978 Bronco.
