c-6 sluggish when cold

My son's C-6 equipped 1981 300ci-6 F150 usually won't go, until revved up, but once it is warmed up, will work fine. My questions are these. Is this fatal? Second, if not, is it worth fixing, or would he be better off changing to a different transmission. This is a week-end warrior, a worker, and sometimes pulls a 23 foot cabin-boat. I appreicate any ideas, and suggestions. Hope everyone is having a great July 4th weekend!

whats the fluid level? it sounds like low line pressure.

mine does the same thang in my 77 ... rev it up for a sec , and then it works fine ...

Morning sickness is usually caused by low fluid level or hardened clutch drum seals.

You can try some conditioner and drive for awhile. The seals may soften up.

I prefer TransX.
