any idea what this is?
found these in a pond in western kansas swimming with the tadpoles. About 2 inches long counting the tail...

Ya, I hear they'll latch on to your skin and bury themselves in it. Normally happens when you're asleep. (They're nocturnal)

I sure would have voted on it being an alien from another world. It's a good thing they don't get very big.

Those things are amphibiuos. They also attach themselves like a leach to the lowest hanging body part. Don't pee in the pond you will alter the eco system. Once the eco system is altered they crawl on the land and morph into something really creepy.
