It is a factory keyless enrty code I am after. I have looked under the dash, nothing.
Yes, the Ford dealer has quoted $40 to do the code read. This truck is 9 months old and I am the 2nd owner, so the card in the owners manual was probably there for the 1st owner but you know how that goes.....Thanks to all hopefully this will all work out.
I was in the same situation as you, I just pulled into the service bay at the local dealership and asked if they could look it up for me, 5 minutes later they gave got it from the computer(hooked up to my truck) and wrote it down for me and I was on my way free of charge.
Take the driverside door panel off to see if the plug for the keypad is there. If the plug is there it should be plug and play,as long as you know the 5 digit code.If you have an XLT the wiring should be there for a keypad. If you have an XL or a STX I can't say for sure?
I found this thread searching for a way to find my code for my 2006 F150 FX4. After doing everything but removing the backseat, I called the original selling dealer of my truck. I politely explained who I bought the truck from and that they had lost the code. They asked for my VIN and within 2-3 seconds they gave me my keyless code. Much easier that removing that backseat...
On a scab or a screw it is on the module behind the rear seat back mounted on the back wall of the cab.On a regular cab the module is in the side panel behind the drivers seat.
When you bought your truck they should have given you a card w/ the 5 digit code on it.However they didn't give me one for my 06.I guess they figured I didn't need it because my truck didn't have a keypad.I added new door handles with a keypad so I had to remove the rear seatback to get the code.
Spot on! Thanks! The module was exactly where you said it was on my buddy's regular cab. Thanks!
I bought my 07 scab 2 months ago, didnt have the keyless code. Its behind the rear seat. Went on Utube watched the video on taking the seat out and me and my 15 yr old son had the seat out, replaced and keyless code set in about a 1/2 hour. piece of cake!
On a regular cab the module is in the side panel behind the drivers seat.
This is exactly where the body control module was located on my 2008 F-150 XLT regular cab. The 5-digit factory code number was plainly visible in bold print.

Sure enough, my 2008 XLT had the unused keypad plug, just like you said it would.
So I purchased a new door handle with the built in keypad, installed it in the driver's door, plugged it into the socket on the wiring harness, entered the factory code printed on the body module, and PRESTO! The doors unlocked! Quickly pressing the 3/4 key unlocked the passenger door, and pressing the 7/8 and 9/0 keys at the same time locked the doors. It works perfectly!
I know this is an old thread, but I just wanted to send a huge thank you to NASSTY for posting the correct solution to adding a factory style keypad entry to my 2008 F-150 XLT regular cab.
