First i hope this is in the right section, as i am new to this forum.
Would a cab from a 1993 Ford F-150 (2 wheel drive) fit onto a 1986 ford F-150(4x4)? i am asking because i have a **Mint** cab from a 93 i parted out for my 87 (fenders, doors, whole front end, box. i have pictures if anyone wants to see. added some small stuff for it but anyway).
If it would fit, would the dashboard be at all installable without a lot of modification? ie bolt patterns to the firewall. I have big plans for restoring my 1986.
(i have a 460 big block (carb injected) with what seems to be factory paint, still runs, low milage. I am putting it in the place of my straight 6 carb injected engine)
If you want to see pics of my trucks, maybe that would help you help me. Click here to see my trucks. i dont have many of my 86 at the moment.
Thanks for your help!
Hey Cletus,it can be done, but really;it is a pain in the ****!! I was in process of doing that to my "86 myself, but you'll find that there will be subtle little differences in where certain bolts line up and such.Biggest pain is going to be attaching the fenders. They "look" like they'll bolt right on,but the bolts are going to be a little "off".there were enough differences in the combo that I myself felt like I'd rather just go hunt another '86 cab.It can be done though,I just did not want to go thru with all the little modifications I was finding. If u want it bad enuff, you can have it I guess.
