Alright, once I got my truck, a 97 f150 Lariat, I found out about these things called Flowmasters. I heard them, literally, and about them. Apparently they were really badass, and when I finally heard them, I fell in love. It's the sound I've always been looking for for my American cars, that "raw American muscle power" sound. When I got my 1965 Mustang a year ago, I wanted that sound, but didn't know where to look. I finally found it, and am saving up to put a dual exhaust system on my Lariat, into one Original 40 Series Flowmaster, with dual outputs and chrome tips. I can't wait to drive it and hear it myself on MY truck. Anyway, I was wondering what you guys thought about this idea, if it can be done, and if it's a good idea to install dual exhaust on a 4.6L triton v8, which is what's in my truck. Thanks for your time.
I just put the same system on my truck. '99 F-150 ext. cab Lariat and I absolutely love it. I bought the Flowmaster 40 series off of the internet to save me a couple bucks and then had it installed with 3" chrome tips, overall i spent about $220, costly but I love the sound. I have only driven a little since the installation and I think my gas milege actually improved a little. I would encourage you put the exhaust system on, you wont be sorry.
I just had Dual Exhaust installed on my 2002 F-150 SC 5.4L I love it, sounds great, and has a little more pep. I chose the Ravin Z-55 see www.goravin.com
Now the next step is a new Perfromance Intake Kit, and a 'chip'. I'm looking at K&N, and JetChips, but would welcome other suggestions?
