is there an adjustment i can make on the brake power booster??i read somewhere here that the pushrod was adjustable..if thats the case it would account for the excessive travel in the pedal..anyone know how to adjust it??
I don't remember mine being adjustable. Lots of reasons for excessive pedal travel. Worn Brakes, Adjusters not adjusting, Master cylinder going bad, etc...
I don't think it would be on the power booster itself, but rather the pedal linkage. I've never heard of any adjustments for pedal travel on the brake pedal, but that doesn't mean it's not possible.
On my 86 b2, if you take the master cylinder out you can see a pushrod. It has a small ball nut type thing that you can loosen to make the pushrod longer. Be careful though it can't be too long or you will damge your master cylinder.
Just wanted to add a little tip Ipicked up after you bolt your brake master cylinder up put a bead of silicone around it this keeps water out and will extend the life of your brake booster. They like to rust out behind the master cylinder.
