With the rain we have received, in North and East Texas, this year....I have a bumper sun flower crop. Best patch in six years of planting.
Generally, they are about chest high. Some are taller. What is amazing is how thick the growth is. Hope it holds those Taliban Dove Birds as the season is less than 2 months away.
That's beautiful - as pathetic as my garden is this year, I should have planted nothing but sunflowers - they are the only thing I have that are thriving.
Do you harvest the seeds or are they just to attract the Doves?
It is strictly to feed the desperate, starving Tailban Dove Bird population.
That is such a nice thing you are doing - feeding the poor and hungry Doves. Mine go to the Bluejays and the blackbirds and the occasional Cardinal. We used to see a few Doves but I haven't seen any in a while.....maybe you could let a few escape this fall.
