Welcome to FTE!

Get yourself some service manuals for your truck. The more the merrier. They should be the first thing you get for your truck.

I may be needing the same thing. My truck starts good, but if I make some stops and have to start it a few times in a short time period it gets harder to start, just kind of cranks for a bit then a big pause.

ejolliffe, I doubt your problem has to do with the solenoid. Sounds more like the battery, timing or something else might be bad. Do you have headers? They could be cooking the starter.

I do have headers, the starter is new and doesn't look like it is that close to the headers (eventhough I know it gets hot in there). Is there a way to check the solenoid?
