Where can I find motor mount towers for 77 F250 4x4 with a 400? The original owner relaced the original 351M with a 429 and hacked up the original towers to accomodate the 429. Thanks in adavanced!
Ok ive been told(havent tried yet) that the frame towers off of other 4wds will work. The front set of holes will line up but the back wont. Youll either have to drill holes or wel them. Someone on this site told me that but i dont remember who.
The towers for fe motor mounts are completely different from that of a 351 or 400...i would go to a junk yard and make sure you measure the width between the two towers and the height bec. if the original motor is not in the rig you are looking to take the towers out of you may not know if the towers are for a 400.
Isnt the 429 the same block as a 460? If so the motor towers should be the same because a 460 wil bolt in where a 351m/400 goes. Ive done this on a 79 f-150
Craig, maybe the best bet would be to have the ones you have rewelded. I think 77 was the only year that you could get the 351M/400 block AND highboy. It might be tough to find a junkyard one with those.
Used on 1977 F250 351M/400 4WD before Serial Number Y20,001 = High Boy

The same motor mount brackets were used on ALL 1978/79 Bronco's. ______________________________________________

Bill is that right for his 77? those are 78 numbers you listed is why I ask.
Yes, here is the usual practice of Ford updating part numbers. Note that the mounts are listed for Bronco's, too.

The scanned un-official CD parts catalog sold on ebay is the first complete printing done in 1979, and is missing much pertinent info. I also have the 1977 and 1978 slides.)

Bronco parts are listed in the passenger car parts catalogs 1966-1979.
