Question RattleCan Bed Liner?

Has anyone used this? Whats the toughness of it?

I'm not going to use it as a bed liner, more of a interior floor for a van. I want to do the steps and the front foot area as the carpeting is has is old and dirty. I want to do those spray on bed liners for the strength and ease to clean and came across the rattlecan version today and want to know if its worth it or just buy it in the bucket and brush it on. Plus the price of the rattlecan is only $8 vs. $90 for the bucket kit.

Thanks in advance for the input.

I've never used it. But, from what I've read, 2-3 coats is optimal. Can you try a small spot with the rattle-can first? Put a couple 3 coats in the same area, say, a 2x2 square area and see how it looks. It should be pretty thick after 3 coats I would think. I would also think it would be plenty good enough for a van floor--out of the elements. You wouldn't be out that much either really with the rattle-can stuff. Clean the floor real good with some trisodium phosphate. You might want to even consider a regular primer sealer coat before the spray liner.

Do not spend your hard earned money on it! Do not even spend it on any DIY bedliner product. Dollar for dollar, nothing cam compare to the two part process that makes the reall stuff a bargain.
DIY is fine for a while, (short while) but will wear very quickly and you will be disappointed, and end up having to do it right. It will cost more trying to save money.

Maybe, but I have $70 in my herculiner and it is holding up fairly well. Rhinoliner would have been over $500. I guess it depends on whether he is doing a cheaper truck or wants to invest the money in a more expensive vehicle. Percentage wise, $500 would have been quite a bit of the cost of my truck build. However, if I had a 40K-50K truck, I would probably spend the money on a professional job.

Thanks for the inputs. I think I'll buy a can and do a couple coats on some spare metal and see what the results are. If its not right I'll just go the bucket route.
