I recently had a new engine installed in my 91'F250. Problem is the engine seems to lack power. Especially at low speeds. The engine seems to be bogged down. I have to stomp it to get some pick up. Until I reach about 45mph. Then she seems to have the getty up she should. Is this some sort of vacuum related problem (which it almost seems like) or some sort of problem with the tranny?
Dan,
Thanks for the reply. My neighbor suggested such, but he also has an iced cold beer in his hand by 7am every day. Good guy, but sometimes I wonder. I'll try that when I get home from work tomorrow. Since my posting I've also replaced the cat. Truck sounds better, but not much of an improvement. I'll keep you posted.
Best way to find out if it's the tranny (tq convertor) is to pull the cover and rotate to tq convertor and listen for small tinking sounds from it. I had a 76 Dodge that had the same problem. Wouldn't do squat until it reached lockout speed. Which sounds like yours. Hopefully it isn't but you never know until you check it.
