Post engine cleaning

I dont know alot about engines so i hope these aren't stuipid ?'s.
When i pulled the motor out i layed it on its side so now oil is coming out from the spark plug holes, how can i clean this out and get it running?
also on a different engine, When i start the motor gas sprays out the air intake tube in the carb. does it need a rebuild? (its a single barrel)

For the motor that has oil in the cylinders. Get it installed, or tell whoever is going to install it, to crank it over with the sparkplugs out till most of the oil comes out. Then install the plugs and get it running.
