I hope I didn't throw $400 down the drain. I just received my new Edge Evolution tuner today.......it doesn't work. When I start the process it has you turn the key on and off without starting about 4 times, then it says it can't communicate or some nonsense and make sure the key is on (IT WAS!!). I got it too late to talk to technical support. Anyone one else had this problem when it was new and how did you fix it? I'll call tech. support in the morning, just trying to get some ideas first.
Sorry i cant help ya, but tried to put my friends edge evolution in my truck yesterday and it said the exact same thing. Then we put it back in his and it worked just fine. the same exact chip has been in my truck before. Dont know what the problem is.
I have one on my '96 F250. It reads codes, does performance calcs like 1/4 mile, and displays the various engine and trans perameters that were mentioned above.
I Have the Edge Evolution 1000... I also have had the same issue...
So far, it seems to be an issue with the Diagnostics port wires, I carefully reseated them (punched them back down with a small screwdriver) and it seems to be fine... I normally saw issues in high heat .. Like this week it's over 100 dgrees here, will check tommorrow for fun and see if she acts up or not.
Flea,
Am I reading your post correctly that edge will have a tuner that reads boost and such for OBS turcks? Are you SURE about this as I am getting read to sell my evo iand a super tuner and try something new, like a custom chip.
I finally got through to Edge tech. support. It sounds like this truck (which I bought used and don't know the complete history) may have an inline chip already in it and it is blocking the new programmer. I found an unidentified black box under the dash that has a wiring harness coming out of it. That may be the culprit. I am headed out of town tonight and don't have time to take it to a shop to see if that is what it is. I won't know anything until next week. Thanks for the input anyway...
