Hi gang. I pulled my master cyl and the booster out of the 54 this weekend. I also pulled all the old brake lines. I have looked up the kit in the parts CD and they appear to be CITZ 2309A for the major repair for the booster and A8Q2004A for the master cyl. How much trouble is it to get these kits? and also, How complicated is it to rebuild the booster. Took it apart,( seperated the halfs) no rust, rubber diaphram is in good shape. Number Dummy, if you are out there, this is a 54 F-750, Q model, with the bendix Hydro-vac. Please check my numbers if you can, still getting use to the CD.
Check your local autoparts store....I found a complete rebuild kit for the master cyl in my '60 for $15! I was shocked that they would carry it.
The master cylinder rebuild kits used on 1960 F100's fit 1957/60, also were used on some 1953/56's, and 1961/64's.
The OP has an 1954 F750 Big Job. There were several different master cylinders used, and several different boosters. I doubt that too many parts stores in this day and age will stock parts for one.
Not trying to butt in but my local napa found the master cylinder new and a rebuild kit for my f-600, but the booster you could only get new. That is for my truck so maybe give your local napa a shot or try the suppliers NumberDummy gave you. Man alive NumberDummy you and JimG1098 are fast at getting these part numbers. Good Luck JOE
Better ta use the FTE site sponsors when ever possible. It's what keeps this awesome site going. If it relied on just the member supporters we would still have to use MS Dos to get in.
Thanks gang. bought the MC kit at NAPA. Number Dummy gave me a FTE supplier ( Green Sales) for the booster rebuild kit. I will contact them on Monday. Any one wants proof that the Parts CD works, it does. GET ONE NOW. iT MAKES LIFE SO EASY
