Thumbs up Dieselsite Filter Installed

Yesterday I installed the Dieselsite coolant filter on my 06 F350 6.0. The install was made easy by all the reading I have done on FTE. I ended up not cutting any of the factory lines on my truck. I just disconected the factory lines and placed the tees at the end of the hoses and added short pieces of line on the other side of the tee. I installed my this way so if I ever need to take it off I can return the truck to the factory way. My support bracket for the coolant filter rested directly on my high pressure AC fitting. I took a piece of 3/4" heater hose and feed it over the fitting and I hope that will keep it from devoloping a leak. I also added lock washers to all the bolts supplied in the kit. I had no leaks and every thing seems to be working well.

I would like to thank everyone that had posted about this mod on FTE, it made my install go easy. I learned what problems would come up and what little hints would help the install be simple.

Next I am thinking about adding a by-pass oil filter to the truck. Still in the research process on that one. Anyone know where you can purchase the Racor brand system at. I have been having problems finding a supplier for it.

Good job 06. Using FTE for what its intended; sharing and learning about these trucks...well the 6.0's on this part of the site anyway. My laptop skips right to this forum....ignoring all the other topics...he!he!
