What happens in you put type F in your tranny when it's low, when it calls for dexron? I've often wondered what the difference is, and have never really gotten a straight answer.
Maybe we should do a search...? I don't recall anything on the differences,I guess I'll ask my trans/mech friend. But I'm guessing the basic make up is similar, with differences being in the friction modifiers for the different types of bands/clutches/valves...
I screwed up and put the type F in when it calls for mercon dexron. I just need to know if this is gonna cause a problem. It was been driven a couple hundred miles and it seems to work, but the shifts feel very soft to me. As I just bought and got this truck on the road, I don't know how it shifted before, so hence the reason for the question. Thanks
good question, I but a quart of dexron in my c4 thats uses type F...don't thin the small amout will have any drastic effect, but auto trannies aren't my thing, maybe we should post this on the tranny forum
