I am converting my 77.5 crewcab F250 C6 205 460(I know it isn't stock) lowboy to a 79. I want to catch every last detail so you can't tell except the VIN. So far I have :
1)Changed the grill shell, rectangular headlights etc
2)Installed 79 tilt steering
3)Relocated neutral safety switch
4)Swapped transfercase ****
5)Installed 79 Dana 60 front(i assume the 77.5 was the same but it had a 44)
Yet to do:
1)Front bumper
2)Install FORD letters on hood
Anything I have missed please let me know.
Isn't it strange what people get bored and want to do?

I think I will skip the cats because the dual exhaust is far from stock, I did the grey gauges by dumb luck already, but nice one on the fuel gauge. You are right and I will change it out.
I don't think 250s had cats until 81... The letters going to the cowl switched in 77... the steering switched around the same time as well... just covering the possibilities... didn't know about the fuel gauge or the gray gauges though... guess you learn something every day.
