trans filter questions
Hello I was just wondering if anyone has installed an aftermarket in line transmission filter kit like the summit universal kit that uses a fram Ph8a oil filter. I have a 2000 F-250 PSD 4x4 auto w/ 108k mi (the fluid has been serviced regularly) and I was going to change the internal trans filter and possibly add a cooler w/ fan and the external filter. Would adding the extra filter put a stain on the trans oil pump? How much resistance does the kit create? Also what is the best brand fluid of the recommended mercon. Does Royal Purple or another make a good fluid for the trans. Thanks in advance for any help and I wish everyone a safe 4th of July!

Royal Purple MAX ATF is one of the best fluids you can use in the tranny. Their MAX Gear is also one of the best for the diffs and you wont need the fiction modifier in the rear diff.
