Got everything back together, wont shift out of second gear. Ive replaced the trans ranger sensor, cleaned all electral connections with electric parts cleaner, with no luck.
Any ideas?
Im also getting the code p1211
Loss of power, usually after a hard acceleration; Rough idle; Check engine light comes on, DTC P1211:
Intermittent high pressure oil leakage
exactally what it does
Im right at the point where i need an oil change, normaly change every 5k, right at that now, maybe little past.
I know the code diagnosis says i need to replace injector orings, is there at change its happening b/c of old oil or do i pretty much need to change the orings?
yah i know that the code doesnt effect the tranny, i was just asking two different questions.
No the od light doesnt blink on and off.
From more research i think it has gone into a fail safe mode, and i need to reset the computer, but not sure how to do that yet.
Have you tried disconnecting the battery overnight and giving it a shot at starting in the morning? Not sure what the tranny seal has to do with anything, unless something got pinched or twisted loose in the process. May be worth getting a pressure reading for your high side oil?
Have you check the shift solenoids with a scanner to see if they are getting commanded on correctly..
Also the OSS and TSS did get plugged back in didn't they
Turbine Shaft Speed (TSS) Sensor
The turbine shaft speed (TSS) sensor is a magnetic pickup that sends the powertrain control module (PCM) information on the rotation speed of the coast clutch drum. The turbine shaft speed (TSS) sensor is mounted externally on the top of the transmission case. The PCM uses the TSS sensor signals to help determine electronic pressure control (EPC) pressure, shift scheduling the torque converter clutch (TCC) operation.
Output Shaft Speed (OSS) Sensor
The output shaft speed (OSS) sensor is a magnetic pickup that provides transmission output shaft rotation speed information to the powertrain control module (PCM).
The output shaft speed (OSS) sensor is mounted externally on the top of the transmission extension housing. The PCM uses the OSS sensor signal to help determine electronic pressure control (EPC) pressure, shift scheduling and torque converter clutch (TCC) operation.
The last time mine did this the shift piston in the valve body had hung. Its actually back in the shop for this same symptom now but I'm not sure if it is the shift pistion hanging again Funny thing is, the first time the scanner said everything was fine. You could see it was getting commanded to go into drive but never did and there were no failure codes.
I'm begining to wonder if there isn't some trash in the fluid lines in mine even though it has been flushed. I've heard that some type of scale can form in the coller lines which can occasionally flake off and cause problems.
The guy at the shop fixed the hung valve by dropping the valve body and then poking the stuck valve with his finger which freed it up. He also said he polished the piston. Non-the-less it hung again and the second time he replaced the valve body.
