i read over that article as well but it is not for a torqueshift 5speed...its probably similar but is certainly different since the ts has a remote filter and probably larger fluid capacity

Is the torqshift transmission different on the '08s, the guide for the transmission service shows an external filter mounted close to the radiator, my '08 does not have this filter, at least I can not find it when I follow the lines from the transmission to the cooler (the '08s have the quick disconnects for all the lines going to the coolers, so it is different up front). There is a cannister thing with 4 lines going to it but I thought that was a temperature bypass.

It don't look anything like what is shown in the pictures, it's mounted in front of the transmission is shaped like a soupcan and has two lines coming into each end of it.
The owners manual shows two different part numbers Ford FT-176 and Ford FT-175 I am not sure it even has an external filter.
