Question stalling while filling up

does anyone else have this problem? while filling up my tanks the truck starts running real rough and sometimes it dies. If i keep the rpm's up for a little it will stay running. Is this from all of the foam/air when the fuel is being pumped in. i know that my pickup tubes have fallen off in the tanks (my truck runs out of fuel showing a 1/4 tank). If i replace these, will the stalling-while-fueling end? also what do i need to do this. would love to have full range of my tanks.

Why do you leave it running?

I agree, you aren't supposed to leave it running while pumping fuel...

Maybe the fuel is frothing up a bit which then introduces some air into the fuel lines.

Yo dude, I have the exact same problem as you. My fuel gauges go crazy like they're possessed or something. If the fuel gets around a 1/4 tank, thats when it goes all retarded. I had the same problem as you a couple of times. I'd fill up the tank, go to start it up, and it would run for like 10 seconds and then die...then I'd have to take off the fuel filter and blah blah blah you know the rest, get's kind of annoying at times.

Its the air in the foamy fuel, the pickups are pretty close to right where the fill hose dumps
