I found a C6 tranny and Tcase for a 85 Bronco. I have a 85 F250 4x4 4Sd wanting to convert over to the C6. I have the long wheel base and he said It might be about 6 inches to short. No funny HaHa about it. Would i have to just get a longer drive shaft. I also want to put a 6 inch lift under her. so could that even be longer. I read that i could also put cv joints in their as well to maybe shorten that up a bit. Thanks for the info in so short notice.
I am trying to understand. You have a T-18, or an Np-435, and you want to install an auto?
The only difference is the length. The auto is longer, but you are going to need to make up shafts anyway. This is true for the front and the rear. Only the front sgaft from the donor vehicle will have the length you need. So grab that from the donor. This is provided that both cases are the same. Thik it was a BW-1356.
I also believe that the same crossmember from the donor vehicle can be used, and the holes are already in the truck frame.
Dont forget to rob the kickdown stuff from the donor vehicle.
I am so new at this I dont know what to get or the extra parts. I guess i was asking if it would bolt wright in. I should get the crossmember off the donor truck and that should bolt in. The clutch master broke all the way threw my firewall. I hear that is comin for my year of truck. I can then just pacth the hole over. I wanted to know if that c6 would bolt to my transfer case or use the donor t-case. I just started typing before thinking yes i will just get the wright size drive shafts. Have you heared of them putting in cv style joints to quiet them down and shorten them up.

The items that are going to be a must is going to be any mounting hardware like the crossmember, bolts, flexplate from the donor vehicle, provided they wre the same engine, trans cooler, and line, if equiped.Keep in mind that the radiator might have to be swapped out since the coller is built into the radiator. The steering column would be a good idea. The steering column has the gear selector on it, and without it you will have to install some type of floor shifter. You will also want to get all of the shifter linkage and the speedo cable. The electrical plug for the 4wd indicator should be the same, so no big worry there. The front driveshaft will be a good idea. This should bolt back into the truck with the proper length, so you will only have to make a new rear one. That should be enough to get you going. Not sure where the gear indicator is at on these trucks. If it is in the cluster, and that is important to you, then you will need that too.
Gonna be a good deal of work. Good luck.
Thanks for the info. I will be doing this project on the side so i will keep the updates posted. Can you email this info to me so i dont lose it some how. jay54f100@yahoo.com and thanks again.
